Photo Hunters ~ Wooden

My dad carved this rocking horse out of Ash wood for my son's first birthday. At five, my son still likes to sit and rock on it occasionally. Hopefully it will be around for generations to come.

Photo Hunters ~ Old Fashioned

This item has been in my husbands family since 1910. It was his great grandmothers.

Can you guess what it is yet?

How about now? ... Hint.. old timers ipod...

It's a Victrola, and it still works! Although the sound leaves something to be desired.

The details on it are fabulous.

When I opened it's top I found the original shipping label. It was soaked with gear oil but still legible.
It was shipped from Chicago to a small town on the west coast. It only had her name the town and state listed. No zip code or street address.

I just love it and hope that it stays in our family for years to come.

Photo Hunters ~ Important

As I browsed my photo folders for a picture that fit the theme "Important" I came across this series of my dad and my son. They are certainly both very important to me, but beyond that. It is important to me that they have a relationship. That they spend quality time together, getting to know each other. Papa is one of the most important people in Bugs life. This was the second or third time they went fishing in the stream at Papa's house. They always catch something!

Photo Hunters ~ Skinny

When I think of skinny, the first thing that comes to my mind is my son. He is a skinny boy, this picture shows his skinny little arm and leg. He won the snake at our state fair, at a carnival game where you have to catch plastic fish. He was so proud of his prize!

Photo Hunters ~ Delicious

Ok this one was very hard for me. I don't take pictures of food very often, or anything delicious. But on Christmas day when I pulled up the driveway at my dads house I was struck by this Persimmon tree out front. The orange fruit were stunning on a winter day. I tried one later and it was delicious!

Photo Hunters ~ Light

I couldn't decide this week. So here is an ornament on my tree, you stick a light through the bottom of it. It has a pretty glow.

This ornament actually has a little strobe light. I couldn't catch it right with the camera. This one can actually be pretty annoying...

Then I just had to put in a picture of the "light" of my life.

Happy Holidays! You can find more photo hunters here.

Photo Hunters ~ Small

This spider was hanging out in my garden this summer. He looks huge, but he is very small.

Photo Hunters ~ Red

I didn't have to look far for inspiration. My son was painting the roof of his new bird feeder a nice shade of red last night.
